Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang are ready to test Chelsea’s resolve to keep hold of in-demand winger Willian until the summer.
Maurizio Sarri is refusing to entertain offers for the Brazilian who has also been attracting the interest of Catalan giants Barcelona .
They have offered another Brazilian winger Malcom plus cash in exchange for Willian, 30, who has 18 months left on his Stamford Bridge contract.
But the Blues have turned the offer down flat.
“Of course I don’t want to lose him,” Sarri declared. Willian is very important for us so I think it’s impossible to lose him in January.
“He can do better because the potential is high. Usually he wants the ball to his feet. He can improve on his movements without the ball, and he has the potential to score more.”
But Sarri’s words won’t put off Dalian Yifang who are also interested in signing former West Ham United star Dimitri Payet.
Dalian Yifang coach, the former German international Bernd Schuster, rates Willian highly and has him at the top of his wanted list.
He might have to wait until the summer to get his man however.
Willian, who joined Chelsea from under Tottenham’s noses in 2013 when arriving from Russia side Anzhi, will have a year left to run on his contract and the Blues hierarchy will almost certainly be open to big money offers.
