A 19-year-old was stabbed to death on Thursday allegedly by his friend for refusing to take the accused for shopping in north-west Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, the police said.
DCP (North-West) Aslam Khan said that the accused, identified as Yogesh, stabbed Dipak around 12 p.m., when he got an opportunity to settle score for the fight that took place on Wednesday evening.
The police said they received a call at 12.15 p.m. regarding the incident. Dipak was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital where he was declared brought dead. “Enquiry revealed that he was stabbed by Yogesh who was arrested from a relative’s house in Bhalswa Dairy,” said a senior police officer.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that he had asked Dipak to take him shopping on his bike on Wednesday evening, but the victim had refused as he wanted to spend time with his family. The refusal led to a fight between the two after which their parents intervened and solved the matter.
However, Yogesh awaited the right moment and when he spotted Dipak on Thursday morning, he pounced on him and killed him.
